Spetses

48 NM southwest of Athens

The last island in the Argo-Saronic chain, Spetses serves as the jumping-off point for destinations further down the coast of the mainland Peloponnese.  Although archaeological evidence suggests Spetses has been inhabited since the Mesolithic Age, around 8,000 BC, it is historically significant mostly for it’s naval contribution to the Greek War of Independence (1821) and for it’s local naval heroine, Laskarina Bouboulina, who contributed greatly to that conflict.
Having once been a prime destination for package-tours from Northern Europe (mostly English) today Spetses is a popular vacation spot for Greek tourists primarily from Athens. Boutique villas and hotels, high-end restaurants, and mega yachts now mix with the more traditional pensions, tavernas, and traditional fishing boats creating an interesting mix of new and old-world Greece. Great beaches and coves dot the semi pine-covered coastline, some with tavernas at the waters edge.  All of this combines to make Spetses a wonderful summer playground to be explored and enjoyed thoroughly with our yacht.

Aegean Blue Charters

Greece… You've seen the images:  The white stone columns of temples standing out sharply against the pure blue sky, the whitewashed houses scattered across the landscape, and islands which  themselves seem to be scattered across the clear blue sea.
Come join Mark Beer as your skipper aboard the Excordis, a 47 foot sailing yacht, for the trip of a lifetime and sail through some of the best destinations Greece has to offer.  Take advantage of Mark's unique familiarity with the area, the culture, and the people as you cross one off your bucket list on one of our charters.
